
Betsy Bright is currently 2nd trumpet in the Tucson Symphony, having joined the orchestra in 2003. She is also a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet, Monsoon Brass, and True Concord Voices & Orchestra. Additionally, Betsy has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, American Wind Symphony, Britt Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, Music in the Mountains (Colorado), and the Bay View Music Festival.
A deeply committed trumpet teacher, Betsy has maintained a private trumpet studio since 1997 and her students have gone on to find success in organizations including National Youth Orchestra, Interlochen, Aspen, National Repertory Orchestra, Eastern Music Festival, and schools including CIM, Curtis, Yale, ASU, and UCLA. Betsy is the founder and Artistic Director of Tucson Brass Workshop, a nonprofit organization. Betsy also teaches composition through the Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s prestigious Young Composers Project.
Originally from Columbia, SC, Betsy studied at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA. She graduated summa cum laude in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and a minor in composition.
Betsy teaches private trumpet lessons at her studio in midtown Tucson or over Zoom.
